Dr. Nakia Hall is a motivational speaker and author who has a respectable background in helping schools and communities by way of activism, legislative influence and social justice advocacy. A born leader called to impact her community, state and country, she has served in numerous leadership capacities and held many leadership positions. These positions include being the chair of multiple leadership committees and councils and, most notably, a 10 1/2 year tenure as an elected official on the Crete-Monee School District school board where she served as the first female President and first African American female President. She is also a leadership and board governance expert who has worked with numerous boards who are pursuing growth in leadership and governance.
Locally, Dr. Nakia has been giving back to her community for many years as the President and Founder of the Overflowing Well Ministries community outreach organization, Founder of the Hall Pass Education Foundation, and Founder and Leader of the Kids in the Hall Youth Leadership mentor group. She has a passion for helping women, youth and families. She has channeled her passion for effective and impactful leadership into her numerous leadership roles in education and in the community. She has also led in women’s ministry and is the owner of the Ladies Who Love business/platform which helps to empower, educate, encourage and embrace women.
Dr. Nakia holds four degrees, including a Master of Arts degree in both Professional and School Counseling, and a Doctorate of Education in Ethical Leadership. When not advocating for our youth, communities and effective legislation in Springfield and Washington, D.C., she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, volunteering at her local church or within her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
